A Celebration of Life will be held for Glen Dean Knight Saturday April 16, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in the Calvary Baptist Church in Cordell, Oklahoma and under the Direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Glen Dean Knight was born in Dill City, Oklahoma on December 11, 1927, to Loyd Orin and Minter Pink Knight. He was the second of three sons, older brother LM and younger brother Gerald. He attended Dill City Schools and graduated in 1945. As soon as he graduated high school, he enrolled at Oklahoma A&M in the Engineering program. After attending a summer and winter session, he was drafted at the end of World War II by the Army and served in Japan as a Corporal radio operator. He returned to Oklahoma and finished at Oklahoma A&M in Engineering. After working at Knight’s Hardware and Furniture for a time, he took a job with Carter Oil and traveled the USA.

In 1953, while working in Mississippi, he met the love of his life, Eloise Joy Latham, in Indianola, Mississippi at a church function. To their joy was added four children, Mary Diane Knight Igo, Martha Carol Knight Emerson, Valli Teresa Knight McElmurray, and Barry Loyd Knight.

Glen had a varied career which included Real Estate, an Appliance Store, a Cable TV company and a pleasurable experience as a math teacher at Dill City High School. Glen and Joy enjoyed traveling to distance lands and visiting grandchildren.

Glen and Joy were blessed with ten wonderful grandchildren: Kembre Roberts, Trevor Igo, Josh Emerson, Leslie Waldrop, Kaleb Baker, Kenton Baker, Glen Phillip Knight, Laura Beth Liddon, Patricia Joy (Missy) Emerson and Jonathan Knight. These grandchildren gifted Glen and Joy with fourteen greatgrandchildren: Ryan Whiney, Hannah Roberts, Haley Roberts, Reese Emerson, Dylan Roberts, Olivia Joy Waldrop, Gunner Igo, Jett Emerson, Ryker Waldrop, Axel Igo, Owen Igo and Knoxley Pearl Waldrop.

Glen enjoyed many years as a volunteer leading the singing in the churches he attended, only retiring at the age of 90.

On April 13, 2022, Glen joined his beloved family In heaven in life, he was proud of teaching his children, grandchildren and great.

The family would like to thank Calvary Baptist Church Family of Cordell for the love and care they showed our Daddy, Glen. We would also like to thank Rachel Neely and her crew from Shepard Home Health for taking such great care of our beloved Daddy for over a decade.
