Funeral services for Gertrude Robertson, 83, of Clinton will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.

She died Monday, June 24, 2019, at AllianceHealth Clinton hospital.

Gertrude Mays Robertson was born March 15, 1933, to Andy and Artie (Laney) Mays in Huntington, W.V., where she was raised and attended school. While still in Huntington she married JR Adkins.

She moved to Oklahoma, where she worked in housekeeping at several local motels, and in 1961 married Lewis Robertson.

Robertson had been a resident of Clinton Therapy and Living Center for the past year. She enjoyed arts and crafts, her coffee breaks, and bird watching.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Tessie Gail Adkins, Michael Adkins and Helen Bonnie Yvonne Steffes; and a sister, Martha White.

Survivors include three sisters, Mary White of Oklahoma City, Billie Jo Bower and husband Jim of Huntington, W.V., and Phyllis Mays and Buck Robinson of Stuarts Draft, Va.

Robertson is also survived by five granddaughters, Donna Gail Spiller of Belton, Texas, LaTonya Snead of Crimora, Va., LaKisha Steffes Palmer of Clinton, Rosa Flores of Clinton, and TaShanda Flores of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Miranda Windham and Britney Spiller, Jonathon Spiller of Belton, Texas, Schyler Snead, Kaitlyn Snead, both of Virginia, JoceLynn Palmer, Blain Palmer, Jordan Amaya, Darius Southerland, Nae Nae Simmons and Tink Jones, all of Clinton; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

The service will be officiated by Jessie Musick. Burial will follow later at Clinton Cemetery.
