Evelyn Joyce Rinehart passed from this life on March 26, 2021 at The Sandy House with family by her side, at age 93. Joyce was born on September 24, 1927 in Stanton County, Kansas to Fred Charles Kilgore and Rhoda Leora (Fender) Kilgore.

She grew up in Stanton County, Kansas and after graduation she married the love of her life, N.B. Rinehart on May 18, 1946 in Syracuse, Kansas. N.B. said when he first saw Joyce, she was herding pigs, she was embarrassed but for N.B. it was love at first sight.

They enjoyed 58 years of marriage before his passing in 2004. Joyce was a long-time member of the Methodist Church in Thomas, an avid Thunder and OU fan, enjoyed quilting, baking, reading and especially loved Pee Wee Baseball.

Even though Joyce worked a few years outside the home, she was the homemaker, always looking out for her family and others as well.

She is survived by her three children: Connie Strickland, Brenda Brinkmeyer and husband Jim of Grand Junction and Renee’ Hidlebaugh and husband Clyde of Putman, OK. Six grandchildren: Chestina, Corey, Devon, Jami, Jared and Jennifer, great-grandchildren: Tamber, Jesse, Avery and Cord. Sisters: Arlene Nichols of Johnson, Kansas and Donna Webb and Husband J.C. also of Johnson, KS, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband N.B., her parents Fred and Rhoda Kilgore, three brothers and four sisters.

Public viewing for Joyce will begin Monday, March 29, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Thomas Methodist Church.

Church services are scheduled for Tuesday, March 30, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at the Thomas Methodist Church with interment following at Mound Valley Cemetery, Thomas Oklahoma. On-line condolences for Joyce can be made by visiting www.peoplescooperativefuneralhome.com.
