LaDonna Mae (Sorge) Dobbs was born August 9, 1944 to Herman and Lucille (McKay) Sorge, in Chester, Nebraska, and departed this life to be present with the Lord on June 21, 2020 in her Clinton home.

Donna was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, and on April 3, 1961 she was united in marriage to Roy Dobbs of Newport, Arkansas. Their beautiful life story is truly amazing how the Lord brought them together living so far apart from each other. She received Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior in August of 1961 at the First Church of God in Newport, Arkansas. They had lived in Nebraska, Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, and moved to Clinton, July 17, 1973 and made their home here.

She was employed with Washington Elementary School, Collins and Aikman Corporation, Department of Human Services, and Vocational Rehabilitation Services, all of Clinton, Oklahoma. She also served as Church secretary working with her husband.

Donna was very supportive of her husband’s ministry and always involved in the work and ministry of the Church. She was active in the Women of the Church of God. She was a guest speaker for an Annual State Texas meeting for the Women of the Church of God. She taught Sunday school classes for children, young married couples and women’s bible studies through the years. She loved being involved in youth camps and any other ministry of the church. On some occasions she used her talent and preached when her husband was out of town on revivals.

Donna enjoyed reading, walking, keeping journals and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. Another joy in her life was going with Roy on revivals when time permitted.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Ricky Dobbs, a sister, Betty Avery, and a brother Larry Sorge.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Pastor Roy Dobbs, of the home; her daughter Teresa Klein and husband Ronnie, of Butler, Okla., son Troy Dobbs and wife Tina, of Clinton, Okla.; four grandchildren, Alicia Carpenter and husband Brandon, of Butler, Okla., Merlanda Dorman and husband Donnie, of Arapaho, Okla., Chelsie Lewis and husband Kody, of Stillwater, Okla., and Ashley Summers and husband Jacob of Biloxi, MS; and five great-grandchildren, MaKinlee and Gage Carpenter, Everett Dorman, and Alex and Addilynn Lewis.

Donna was a beautiful, generous, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a precious friend to many. She will be missed more than words can say.

The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Blakeburn and his staff, and Shepherd Home Health Care and Hospice for their compassion, concern and wonderful care they gave to Donna and comfort they provided for the family.
