Funeral Services for Debra Weil, 68, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, November 6, 2023, in the Arapaho Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Don Lacy. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Debra Ann (Lax) Weil was born June 23, 1955, to Gilbert Tom Lax and Norma Lee (Hooser) Lax in Thomas, OK and passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in the Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, OK.

Debra was raised in Arapaho, OK where she graduated from Arapaho High School in 1973. While attending high school she was active playing basketball, cheerleading and was a member of the Rainbows. She continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, obtaining a degree in Business Administration.

She married Raymond Weil on April 12, 1974, in Clinton. They made their first home in Arapaho but soon moved to Clinton and made it their home.

She was employed with Meacham Law Firm and later joined Richard Phillips Law Firm and served as his legal secretary for over 26 years.

She is a member of the Arapaho Baptist Church; she was a member of the Western Oklahoma Genealogical Society and the Western Oklahoma Historical Society. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother in 2017 and her husband, in 2020.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Thomas and husband, Barrett, Tulsa, OK and son, Chris Weil and wife, Angie, Clinton, OK, dad, Tom Lax, Clinton, OK sister, Nancy Mason and husband, Craig, Clinton, OK, brother, Brad Lax and wife, Rayna, Butler, OK.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, Payton Harrelson and husband, Holden, Lexi Weil, Victoria Weil, and Beckham Weil, Braden Thomas and Jacob Thomas, two special aunts, Bobbie and Pewee. and numerous cousins and other family members.
