Funeral services for Darrell Morlan, 50, of Arapaho, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Kiesau Memorial Chapel.

He died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, in the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Darrell Dean Morlan was born Nov. 12, 1968, to Evan Dale Morlan and Elsie (Wheeler) in North Fork, Va. He spent his early school years in Canyon, Texas.

After both his parents died, Morlan went to live with an aunt and uncle, Jim and Verbeana Looper, in Pampa, Texas. He considered the Loopers his “second parents.” He attended Pampa schools and was active in football and track, graduating in 1986.

He moved to Clinton in 1988, where he met Jacquelyn Chadick. They married on Oct. 12, 1988, in Kentucky. The couple made their home in Ohio for a short time before returning to Clinton, eventually settling in Arapaho.

Morlan was employed with Security Metal, Bar-S Foods, and PSN and Frac Tech.

He attended the First Christian Church. He was an avid sports fan, loved his dogs, and enjoyed golfing.

Morlan was preceded in death by his biological parents, as well as the family that helped raise him; a brother, Carl Nelson Morlan; and a sister, Anna Morlan.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Mikka Morlan of Clinton; a son, Jared Ronan of Arapaho; a nephew, Josh Ronan and family of Clinton; three sisters, Mary Vega and Cathy Morlan, both of El Reno, and Angie Reed of Amarillo, Texas; and several nieces and nephews that he helped raise.

He is also survived by two grandchildren, PaisleeAnn Simon and Bentley Simon; and his mother-in-law, Arleen Harris of Clinton.

A wake service will be held from 6-8 p.m. today in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.

The service will be officiated by Doyle Kinney. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
