Funeral Services for Darrell Lee “D.L.” Stehr, age 76, a lifelong resident of Clinton, OK will begin at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 20, 2023, in the First Baptist Church of Clinton, officiated by Pastor Terrill Mitchell.

Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of Darrell and Judy Stehr’s son-in-law, Shane Vice, and the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home of Clinton.

Viewing will begin Wednesday, January 18, 2023, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.

The Stehr family will greet family and friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Darrell Lee “D.L.” Stehr was born June 29, 1946, to Martha (Gerner) Stehr and Emanuel Stehr in Clinton, OK and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Friday morning, January 13, 2023, in the Weatherford Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Darrell was raised in Clinton, OK where he graduated high school in 1964.

He continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK.

Darrell was united in marriage to Miss Judy Cabaniss on November 17, 1966.

To this union two children were born, Deedra and Brennon. Darrell was employed by his father, Emanuel, at the family business, Bill’s Body Shop in Clinton.

Darrell later began a career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1972. He served in various positions before being assigned the responsibility for all pay phone operations in the Western Oklahoma area. He retired in 2003 after more than 31 years of service.

Darrell had an interest from an early age in residential and commercial rental real estate, acquiring, owning and operating property throughout the Clinton area. He was skilled in performing renovations, repairs, maintenance and overseeing the daily business operations of what became a Stehr family business. No task was too large (or small) for Darrell. His talents were many with welding being just one.

Darrell was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church for many years where he served in leadership and taught Sunday School.

He later joined and was a faithful and active member of the Clinton First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lealon Stehr and Calvin Stehr; one sister, Norma (Stehr) Tice; and his fatherin- law and motherin- law, Dale and Maxie Lee Cabaniss.

He is survived by his wife of more than 56 years, Judy, of their Clinton home; one daughter, Deedra (Stehr) Vice and her husband, Shane, of Norman, OK; one son, Brennon Stehr of Clinton, OK; two grandsons, Dalton Vice of Houston, TX and Brant Vice of Norman, OK; one sister, Charlene Ewing and her husband, Don, of Oklahoma City, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
