Clarine Faye Kamphaus was born on April 16, 1943 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Edna Lovella Louise (Lawson) and Clarence Jesse Rich. She passed away June 13, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 28 days.

Clarine mainly grew up in the Canute and Elk City communities. She attended and graduated from Canute High School in 1961.

Shortly after graduation she was married to Dwain Kamphaus at Canute, Oklahoma on August 5, 1961. Dwain says he married the only girl in Canute he wasn’t kin to. After their marriage they moved to Elk City before moving to Clinton in 1971.

For the next 49 years they made their home in Clinton, Oklahoma where they raised their family. Clarine was very involved with her children’s lives and their sporting activities. In her spare time she loved reading, cooking, baking and sewing, but most of all she took pride in and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Gayle Webb. Clarine is survived

Clarine is survived by her husband, Dwain, of the home; 3 children, Aaron Kamphaus and wife, Gwili, Canute, OK, Shannon Zeiser and husband, Donald, Maxwell, IA, and Kim Sotomayor and husband, Robert, Tucson, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Corey Kamphaus, Dr. Jered Stowers and fiance Alexander Black, Kyle Zeiser and Joshua Zeiser and wife, Hannah; 2 great-grandchildren, Emery and Kendall Zeiser; 3 brothers, Benny Rich and wife Joy, Dale Rich and wife, Gail and Mike Rich and wife, Peggy; 1 sister, Ranay Nelson Storms; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Those attending the wake and mass services are asked to observe social distancing and the wearing of a mask.

Prayer vigil services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held Friday, April 19, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Matthew Catholic Church officiated by Father Philip. Burial will be held immediately following at Holy Family Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West.
