Funeral service for Chris Watson Miller, age 88 of Verden, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the Verden First Baptist Church with Charles Willis officiating.

Chris Watson Miller was born March 29, 1934 to Chris and Nona Miller near Verden, Oklahoma.

He went to be with Jesus on November 5, 2022 at his home in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He graduated from Verden High School in 1952. He married his high school sweetheart Juanita Jean Unruh on September 3, 1955 and raised three children.

Some of the endeavors of his early life: Chris was active in FFA. He was very successful in many different judging contests from livestock to land judging.

In 1951 his team won the State Livestock Judging Contest. He excelled in raising and showing Poland China Swine and was the President of The Swine Breeders Association. He loved the farming life and also worked in the construction field building houses. Chris loved his family with all his heart and soul. He was respected and revered in all fields of business that he endeavored in.

They lived on a farm north of Verden until 1986 and then traveled to various construction sites in the state of Oklahoma.

He is survived by his daughter Diane and Doug Butler, of Anadarko, son Keith and Cathy Miller of Clinton, and son Kent and Dana Miller of Purcell.

Eight grandchildren, Joe Hackney of Chickasha, and Alison Schindler of Chickasha, Chris and Kenli Miller of Clinton, Courtney and Matt Slover of Tuttle, Whitney and Will Carpenter of Mustang, Ashley and Blaine Harrison of Gracemont, Kaleb Miller of Clinton, Kyleigh and Craig Walton of Mustang, and Mason Agee of Purcell. Six Great Grandsons - Rylend Slover, Cooper Hackney, Braylin Slover, Langston Miller, Heston Miller, and Axl Harrison.

Four Great Granddaughters - Emma Harrison, Kaisley Jean Slover, Kaizlee Miller, and Kori Kate Carpenter. Sister in-laws Opal Layman and Dennis Beanland of Ridgedale, MO, Verda and Don Winn of Verden, OK, and Lauri and Jackson McLane of Anadarko, OK, numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Juanita Jean Miller, parents Chris and Nona Miller and brother Bob Miller and sister Pauline Miller.

Pallbearers are Joe Hackney, Chris Miller, Kaleb Miller, Matt Slover, Will Carpenter, and Craig Walton.

Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery. Service is under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
