Billy “Bill” Jennings

Billy “Bill” Jennings, age 70, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning hours of May 30, 2025. He was born on September 10, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas to Oliver Wayne and Willie Jean (Washburn) Jennings.

Bill was raised in Clinton, Oklahoma, where he attended Clinton Public Schools until his junior year before graduating from Dill City High School in 1972. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he began a lifelong career as a truck driver—a profession he had started parttime at age 18. Over the years, he drove for several companies, most recently for Hobby Lobby.

In 1998, Bill married the love of his life, Kathie Rose Henze. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. Although he lived throughout Custer and Washita counties, primarily in Clinton, Bill made Norman his home nearly 30 years ago. Bill had a deep love for the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed fishing, watching old westerns and true crime shows, and was known for his skill and passion in cooking and barbecuing for his family. A kindhearted and loyal man, Bill was a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring brother, and a proud grandfather. Family was always his top priority.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Willie Jean Jennings, and his sister, Carolyn Jennings.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathie Jennings of the home; son, Shannon Wayne Jennings of Clinton; daughters, Misty Dawn Jennings of Hobart and Krystal Jennings of Virginia; sisters, Cindy Jennings and Lisa Jennings, both of Clinton; brothers, Johnny Jennings of Clinton, Roger Jennings of Noble, and Michael Jennings of Edmond; and a special cousin, Zack Treadway. Bill is also survived by a number of beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Jennings, Jesse Jennings, Johnny Jennings, Cash Jennings, Marcus Jennings, and James Jennings. Honorary pallbearers are Shelby Jennings and Jack Treadway.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Hyman Memorial Chapel, under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Clinton Cemetery.

Bill’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
