Funeral Services for Barbara Preston, 85, Arapaho resident, will be held 10:00 AM, Monday April 17, 2023, in the Arapaho First Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Don Lacy. A burial will follow in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

The funeral home will be open for viewing 1:00 PM till 5:00 PM Saturday, April 15, 2023, and 1:00 PM till 8:00 PM Sunday, April 16, 2023.

The family will meet guests from 4:00 PM till 6:00 PM, Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Barbara Sue (Woods) Preston (affectionately aka” Sarg”) was born March 3, 1938, to Walter Clarence Woods and Aurie M. (Butler) Woods in Clinton, OK and passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, in the Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, OK. Barbara was raised in Clinton, OK and graduated from Clinton High school in 1956. She married Carl Dean Preston on May 5, 1957, in Clinton, OK. They made their first home in Elk City, OK and in August 1959 they moved to Clinton. In 1963, she started a nursing career with the Oklahoma General Hospital and worked for Clinton Regional Hospital until retirement in 2006. In 1964, they moved to Arapaho, OK.

Barbara stated she made the most important decision in her life accepting Jesus Christ as her savior on March 14, 1948. She has been a longtime faithful and active member of the Arapaho First Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school, served as kitchen coordinator for several years and was a member of the YES Bible Study Group. She was a Boy Scout Leader, 4-H Leader, Custer County Volunteer Fair Worker, and a member of the Sunnyside Club, Hub City Squares, and the Triad. She also enjoyed being a part of the Oklahoma Quilters Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Corey Lynn Huber, and four sisters, Anna James, Vinita Hamilton, Pauline Merritt, and Betty Whitlock.

She is survived by son, Clarence Preston and wife, Janna, OKC, OK and two daughters, Kim Huber and husband, Fred, Clinton, OK, Carla Glidewell and husband, Ronnie, Yukon, OK.

She is also survived by and was the biggest fan to her three grandchildren, Nathan Huber and wife, Melody, Vanessa Randle and husband, Travis, and Lindsey Preston and five great grandchildren, Adrian, Bradley, Corey, Asher and Summit and a bonus great grandchild, “Bumpy”.
