Time for lights to come down

The halls are decked no longer as City of Clinton employees remove the various Christmas decorations that adorn the town’s street lights, the wreaths on streetlamps downtown and the giant Santa Claus statue that was erected in the small field near the intersection of Gary Boulevard and Modelle Avenue.

The new year is in full swing for Custer County commissioners who met during a regular meeting Tuesday to discuss changes in Custer County representation in various boards as well as ongoing projects across the county.

A new year brings new opportunities for professional development and training and with that, Clinton Fire Department firefighters are continuing to push forward with new trainings and certifications to continue serving the community of Clinton.

The Washita Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Dec. 11 at Café Clinton in a meeting called to order by Regent Kay Hagerman who was assisted by Chaplain Judy Tracy with the DAR ritual followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, American’s Creed, Christmas melody, the Preamble to the Constitution and the Oklahoma Flag Salute.
