The engine, which cost $8,750 brand new and was signed for by McLain Rogers on Feb. 19, 1930, was declared surplus by the Clinton City Council in order to donate it to the museum. Capt. Blake Shaddon rolled out of town with it before 9 a.m. Tuesday to take the fire engine to its new home.
