After discussions the past few weeks over Custer County’s eligibility for state disaster relief aid after June and July storms caused damage across the county, commissioners have officially decided during their regular meeting Monday to move on after new rules and regulations have come to light showing the county does not meet the requirements for the aid after all.

With a state hospital license now in hand from the Oklahoma State Department of Health for the operation of Clinton Regional Hospital, interim hospital CEO Reva Burton says while the hospital’s reopening is still two to three months away, she is optimistic that the process moving forward will go smoothly.
