The filing period for Clinton City Council seats representing Wards 1 and 3 is now open. Candidates may file at the Custer County Election Board office, 633 N. Sixth St. in Clinton, through 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Two fights occurred July 10 during Foss State Park’s annual Christmas in July event, according to the Custer County Sheriff’s report. One of them reportedly involved a large group of people.

Nominations are currently being sought for Clinton Citizen of the Year and AMBUCS Woman of the Year. Winners will be announced at the Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet to be held Friday, Aug. 13, at the Frisco Center.

Three recent college grads

Three student teachers within Clinton Public Schools have been hired on full-time for the 2021-2022 school year. All three teachers completed their student teaching in Clinton and expressed their excitement about their new positions.
