Three fire departments battle tractor fire in Arapaho

According to Clinton Fire Lt. DJ Woodall, the department sent a heavy brush truck to Arapaho Tuesday afternoon to assist Custer City, who was first on scene, and Arapaho fire departments. The fire consumed the tractor’s cab, engine and damage was done to both trailers. Woodall said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Airport is

A $32,000 Airport Rescue Grant from the Federal Aviation Administration was accepted Tuesday night by the Clinton City Council to help pay for damage caused by the Oct. 12 tornado that struck the city’s airport.

Clinton’s eastbound I-40 off-ramp at Gary Boulevard will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and possibly part of Saturday so Terracon Consultants can collect concrete samples for upcoming highway projects at Exit 65.
