Tribes honored with new jail painting

A portrait of General George Armstrong Custer displayed in the Custer County Jail for many years was removed Tuesday morning and replaced with a temporary one of former Cheyenne-Arapaho Chief Moses Starr. The permanent one is larger, and expected to be displayed in the jail by the end of the week.

After 25 years of service Canda Dupree, the owner of Dupree’s Flowers and Gifts and Dupree’s Interior Design, has decided to retire from the floral and gift section of her store while she continues to provide interior design from her home.
