Harriette reflects on the anniversary of the Capitol riot

DEAR READERS: Today is the anniversary of a dark day in our country. On Jan. 6, 2021, just when my family was about to celebrate my niece's birthday, the airwaves were filled with frightening images of Americans who were overtaking our beloved nation's Capitol. ● Road salt is used in the wintertime to deice roads, but it can also be a leading source of rust for the undercarriage of your car. After a harsh winter storm, take your car to a car wash – which is the most water- and energyefficient way to wash a car – to have the salt residue washed off, and opt for additional undercarriage cleaning. A wax seal now and then also will create a protective barrier on the outside of the car to help minimize damage.
