The filing period for Clinton’s upcoming municipal elections closed Wednesday with incumbent mayor David Berrong and incumbent Ward 2 and Ward 4 council members Ernie Dowdell and Art Lloyd all failing to draw an opponent.

Repairs are coming to an end at Clinton High School after flooding late in the school year left parts of the school unusable. With those repairs finished, the district can shift its focus to the cleanup process and preparing for the upcoming school year as well as new projects that will be starting soon.
