Capitol has scheduled its next hearing for Oct. 13, pushing the investigation back into the limelight less than three weeks before the midterm election that will determine control of Congress.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt signed a bill Tuesday targeting medical treatments for transgender youth and called on the GOPcontrolled Legislature to impose a statewide ban when it returns in February.

The Clinton Economic Development Authority received updates on new businesses opening in town and discussed paying $10,000 to the Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority (OSIDA) from private funds at its regular meeting Tuesday.

New owners

The sale of Red Collar Pet Foods’ manufacturing plant in Clinton to Colgate-Palmolive’s subsidiary Hill’s Pet Nutrition was officially completed Sept. 30. The company announced the sale in August as part of a $700 million plan by Colgate-Palmolive to purchase three dry pet food manufacturing plants in the United States from Red Collar. Other plants involved in the sale are located in South Carolina and Ohio. The plant here will produce dry pet food for Hill’s Science Diet and Prescription Diet brands.

A representative from Carrus Health spoke during the regular meeting of the Clinton City Council Tuesday. Also discussed at the meeting were bids for a new air conditioning unit at the Clinton Fire Department, the purchase of a new chipper for the Streets Department, and the abatement of a structure on Hunt Avenue.

Responded to a report of harassment in the 100 block of S. 4th St. in Clinton.
