Businesses to host open house

As December quickly approaches, it is time for people to think about the upcoming Christmas holiday. Luckily, the Clinton Chamber of Commerce has the community of Clinton prepared with its Christmas Open House next weekend.

CBA class play

The Corn Bible Academy senior class will put on its rendition of “Paradise Lost and Found” this weekend. There will be two matinee performances Thursday and Friday at 1 p.m., with the main performance set for Saturday at 5 p.m. After the play on Saturday, the junior class will be serving a meal in the cafeteria. Ticket, ma’am?

Monroe Murray, left, gives Western Oklahoma Christian School Principal Dora Miller a ticket for the upcoming WOCS Hamburger Fry on Friday at the Frisco Center, located at 101 S. 4th St. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and dinner from 5-7 p.m. People can dine-in, carry out or choose curbside pickup. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children and include a hamburger or hot dog, chips, baked beans, dessert and drink. During the event an on-site silent basket auction and bake sale will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Clinton Economic Development Authority moved to request the Clinton City Council to appropriate $120,000 to fund needed demolition at the Glancy Motel and Pop Hicks property at its regular meeting Tuesday.

Great Plains Kubota opens in Clinton

After more than a year of working out the details to move locations, Great Plains Kubota celebrated its first day of operation at its new location in Clinton on Monday.

Ashley Lopez, 20, of Clinton, has been charged with domestic assault and battery by strangulation after Clinton Police responded to an incident on Oct. 18.
