The Board of Custer County Commissioners discussed work being done through the Law Enforcement Trust at the Custer County Jail along with updates on the county’s hazard mitigation plan at its weekly meeting Tuesday.

With the temporary closing of the Clinton Hospital, emergency medical services across the area have been working to ensure the safety of residents in the event of a medical emergency. Plans in place include taking patients to the nearest hospital, whether that is Weatherford Regional Hospital, Cordell Memorial Hospital, or Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, to receive needed emergency medical care and the addition of new field staff to help with longer calls.
