Community to celebrate police

With National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day being celebrated on Monday, The Crossing Church, located at 1300 Dunn Ave. in Clinton, will be hosting a special service to honor local law enforcement and first responders. The event will take place at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church with a meal to follow.

Police: Idaho slaying suspect's DNA found at crime scene

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The DNA of the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students was found on a knife sheath recovered at the crime scene, and cellphone data shows that he was in the area of the victims' home multiple times in the months before the November attack, an investigator said in court documents unsealed Thursday.

Sworn into office

Three Custer County officers were sworn in Tuesday to begin four-year terms.
