Clinton Public Schools are in “good financial shape,” according to an audit of the 2021-2022 school year by Britton, Kuykendall and Miller, Certified Public Accountants during the Clinton Board of Education’s regular meeting Monday. James Kuykendall presented the audit’s findings.
For the second year in a row, Clinton Middle School eighth-grader Evan Hunter has participated in the Thunder Regional Spelling Bee. He tied for fifth place at this year’s competition. The regional spelling bee accepts the top 25 students from across Oklahoma who compete in local school competitions before participating in district and county online testing to be selected for the regional competition.
The Clinton Public Schools Foundation has introduced a new scholarship for Clinton High School seniors dedicated to the late Sally Nan Brooks Smith who taught at the school for 26 years.
The Custer County Oklahoma State University Extension Service is warning livestock producers in western Oklahoma of a reported increase of bloat cases across the area in calves grazing wheat and other small grain pastures, according to Custer County OSU Extension Agriculture Educator Larry Bryen.
