Rt. 66 Centennial plans continue

Plans for the upcoming Route 66 Centennial Celebration are underway with the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum in Clinton starting to put plans in motion to be ready by 2026 when the historic road will celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Frisco Center, the Clinton Alumni Association will meet to work on flyers to be emailed and mailed to Clinton High School alumni notifying them about the upcoming CHS All-School Reunion, to be held May 26 and 27.

Registered voters who live within Clinton city limits will decide Tuesday whether $11.6 million in hospital trust money can be used to fund restorations and updates to the Clinton hospital to get it up to current codes and reopened as soon as possible.

Local film ‘Expunged’ recognized

“Expunged,” a film written and directed by Clint Higginbotham of Clinton under the pen name Clinton H. Wesley, has received numerous award nominations and recognitions since its release last year. This movie marks a return to film making for Higginbotham, one he hopes will last for years to come.
