No one was believed seriously hurt in a rear-end automobile accident about 5:30 p.m. Monday at W. Modelle Avenue and S. 28th Street in Clinton.

Police Lt. Shane Harrelson and Officer Michael O’Kelley worked the accident. Reading from their notes, Lt. Ray Hammans said Tammy Combs, 57, was driving a 2008 Hyundai west on Modelle and was stopped to turn left onto 28th when her car was hit from behind by a 2000 Ford pickup driven by Jovani Lopez.

Both drivers as well as two juveniles riding in the Hyundai were from Clinton.

The accident report showed possible abdominal injuries to 10-year-old Tamara Johnston. The other juvenile was 8-year-old Brea Johnston.

Lopez told one of the officers he reached for a bottle of water and did not see the Hyundai stopped in front of him.

All involved were wearing seatbelts.
