LEEDEY – There’s no better way for Arapaho- Butler basketball to finish the regular season than sweeping perennial state tournament contender Leedey Tuesday night on the road.
For the third time in three years under head coach Rob Pitman’s leadership, the No. 13 Clinton wrestling team (6-4 overall) completed the dual season with a winning record Monday night at the Tornado Dome, thumping the Kingfisher Yellowjackets, 51-24.
A strong high school program starts before athletes move into their varsity careers, and Clinton wrestling has the luxury of a strong base at the peewee and junior high levels.
Clinton sophomore point guard Carmella Jefferson is lighting up defenses right now. Over the last five games, she’s averaging 23.4 points per game on 61.4-percent shooting, 51.9-percent shooting from three and 93.5-percent from the free-throw line.

Rivalries boil at a much hotter temperature, but the No. 16 Clinton boys’ basketball team (14-6 overall) kept its composure and handed Weatherford (8-11) a second dose of defeat Saturday night at the Tornado Dome, 68-59.
ERICK – A season of big-time wins for the No. 17 Arapaho-Butler girls’ basketball team (15-8 overall) continues, as it took down Class B, No. 20 Erick (14-10) in overtime Friday night, 28-27.
