Three days after the opening of the 2020 summer season, the Clinton baseball team was scheduled to get back on the diamond Thursday at the Elk City Tournament.
Clinton class of 1997 graduate and former Oklahoma kicker Tim Duncan prepares to kickoff for the Sooners. Duncan helped OU win its most recent national title in 2000. He made two field goals and an extra point in the Sooners’ 13-2 win over Florida State in the Orange Bowl.
The cancellation of this year’s summertime dead period, which runs June 27-July 5, opened up nine total days for athletics to utilize.

Late, one-run, walkoff wins in favor of the Clinton baseball team (1-0 overall) are becoming a trend against Elk City, and a three-month layoff between matchups didn’t change much in another CHS win Monday night.
Gradual improvements over the last four years have the Clinton softball program on the doorstep of becoming a winning program, and it’s off to a great start in that direction this offseason.
