Lady Reds cap season at state tournament

In a sport dominated by the private schools the Clinton High School girls’ tennis team pushed their opponents to the limit this weekend at the Class 4A State Tournament at the OKC Tennis Center.

Soccer teams advance to semis

Two road trips. Two stout opponents. Two 2-0 shutouts. Two tickets punched to the Class 4A State semifinals next week for the Clinton High School soccer teams.

The annual Cowboy Football Reunion will be held the weekend of Sept. 10, and the 2002 Houston Bowl championship team will be honored as the team of special recognition as part of Oklahoma State’s matchup with Arizona State.

Postseason plans change for sports

To mangle an old adage, “Spring sports bring spring showers.” The programs at Clinton and Arapaho-Butler are preparing to wind down their spring campaigns this weekend with weather proving to be a pesky factor in the process.

Mother Nature may have derailed the Clinton girls’ tennis team a day at its regional tournament, but the field could not stop the Lady Reds Tuesday, as all three entries punched their ticket to this weekend’s state tournament.
