Two Erick residents were injured in a single-vehicle collision early Sunday morning in Beckham County.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister called an emergency meeting of the State Board of Education for 4 p.m. Monday to authorize the closure of all Oklahoma schools beginning March 17 and lasting until April 6.
The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) voted in an emergency meeting Monday to close all Oklahoma schools until April 6th due to concern over COVID-19 (Coronavirus). This means athletics will also be shutdown until that date as well.

Even though no cases of suspected coronavirus (CO- VID-19) have been identified in Custer County, preemptive precautions are being taken by some entities here as a "just in case" measure, including the Clinton Veterans Center, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and Sinor Emergency Medical Service.
Ten teacher grant applications totaling $8,238 have been approved by the Clinton Public School Foundation board of trustees, said CPSF executive director Erin Adams. The foundation awards grants to teachers twice each academic year, in the fall and spring, to fund special classroom projects for Clinton students.
