During the evening of February 14, 2023, Betty Jo Hill of Oklahoma City passed away at the age of 87. Betty was born to AP and Hilda Schmidt in 1935, in Clinton, OK. She attended Parkersburg School until 8th grade in which she attended Clinton Junior High School.

She graduated from Clinton High School in 1953. After graduation she began her career working for Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, the State Vocational Rehabilitation Department in Clinton, and Western Oklahoma Plains Library System in Clinton along with being a housewife and mother. She retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in 1995.

On October of 1955, she married Jimmy Hill of Clinton, OK, at the First United Methodist Church of Clinton, and together they raised four children. Daughter Jo and Randy Morast of Wylie, TX, their son Jonathan and Habibah Morast of Fillmore, CA, and their sons Zek and Jace Morast of Fillmore, CA. Son Greg and Deana Hill of Cordell, OK, their daughter Jennifer and Scott Renken of Guymon, OK, and their son Logan Renken of Guymon, OK. And special family, Danny and Joy Merkey of Weatherford, OK, and their children Kadence, Klaire, and Karder Merkey of Weatherford, OK.

Kaci and Branden Sapp of Lindsay, OK, and their daughters Braylie and Emma Sapp of Lindsay, OK. Daughter Karen and Jeff Wilson of Yukon, OK, their daughters Haley and Kaden Stratton, of Norman, OK, and their children Nate and Ellie Stratton of Norman, OK, Alyssa Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK, and her fiancé John Roy of Oklahoma City, OK.

Daughter Shawn and Rodney Clark of Burleson, TX, and their daughters Kourtney and Brad Finley, of Salina, OK, and their sons Sullivan and Barren Finley of Salina, OK, Jessie Clark of Fort Worth, TX, and her fiancé Brandon Jacobs of Fort Worth, TX, and their daughter Maisee Jacobs of Fort Worth, TX.

Betty Jo was a charter member of the First Mennonite Church in Clinton, Memorial Chairman for the Custer Co. Cancer Society, a member of Beta Sigma Phi Chapter in Clinton, past President of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Junior Service League, and a charter member of the Rebecca Circle of the First United Methodist Church of Clinton.

She along with her husband Jimmy, enjoyed traveling throughout their lives. She believed her life had been blessed with a loving husband, loving children and grandchildren and many loving family members and friends.

Betty Jo is preceded in death by her parents, AP and Hilda Schmidt, her siblings Mary Thomas, Irvin Schmidt, and LaVeta Rogers, and her grandson Darren Hill.
