The M.T. and Helen Gholston Children’s Park at Acme Brick Park remains closed more than two months after vandals went through the park damaging already aging pieces of equipment and shutting the beloved children’s park down due to safety concerns. As time creeps toward the winter months, officials are working to decide what the best next steps for the park may be including the possibility that the playground will be taken down.
Savannah Rachelle Delaney, 38, of Clinton, has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree burglary, attempted escape from arrest or detention, and assault and battery on a police officer after an Oct. 4 break-in led to a stabbing attempt of a victim and an officer being bitten.
