MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A company has installed computerized vending machines to sell ammunition in grocery stores in Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas, allowing patrons to pick up bullets along with a gallon of milk.

The Clinton Economic Development Authority (CEDA) convened Tuesday afternoon at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) Field 5 District Headquarters.

Around 11:04 p.m. July 6, Clinton Police Department officers were dispatched to the Relax Inn to investigate reports of smoke. The Clinton Fire Department was also en route as well.

Clearing the way

An excavator Tuesday loads up debris from longtime local business John’s Service Center at Sixth Street and Gary Boulevard, clearing the site for potential redevelopment.

Clinton Public Schools announced enrollment dates for the upcoming school year, with classes set to begin Wednesday, Aug. 7. Enrollment will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
