Two injured in wreck

The driver of this car was transported by helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City following a two-vehicle accident around noon Wednesday at Neptune Drive and Industrial Road. CFD Lt. Joe Williams and Lt. Dylan Abner work to free the injured individual. The driver of the other vehicle was transported by ambulance to the Clinton hospital.

Smoky home

Firefighters responded to a house fire shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday at 428 S. Seventh St. According to Clinton Fire Chief Brett Russell, the occupant of the house and her dog got out of the home safely. Russell said the house received substantial damage and the cause is still under investigation.

CPSF doles out several grant checks

The Clinton Public Schools Foundation recently awarded 18 grants to teachers and principals. Approximately $17,749 was awarded through grants this semester.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — An environmental group is suing U.S. wildlife managers, saying they have failed to protect a rare grouse found in parts of the Midwest that include one of the country's most prolific areas for oil and gas development.

In a letter released to parents on Tuesday, Clinton Public Schools addressed the situation surrounding Ashley Kelley and an allegedly fraudulent post on social media. An investigation is underway after a social media post began circulating by an individual claiming to be Kelley in which a racially charged message was sent to someone.

Laurie Ellis, 43, of Clinton, has been charged with assault and battery on a police officer and malicious injury to property after an incident at Clinton City Hall on Oct. 12 according to an affidavit filed by Clinton Police Officer Randy Dunegan.
