Regents honor Moore

State Rep. Anthony Moore, of Clinton, was recognized Wednesday as a recipient of the 2024 Distinguished Service Awards for Higher Education by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

Called into action

Firefighter Bobby Winans, Clinton Fire Department’s newest hire, aims a fire hose at a burning 10-by-10-foot shed at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday at 621 Santa Fe St. Winans and his colleagues battled the blaze in scorching 105-degree heat, quickly containing the fire that threatened nearby vegetation.

New FFA instructors excited

Rick Dillinger, a veteran FFA/Ag teacher originally from Atlanta, Texas, brings a wealth of experience to Clinton as the new head FFA instructor and will have Alexia Newman serving as his assistant this school year.
