WPLS sets summer activities

With summer on the horizon, the Western Plains Library System (WPLS) is gearing up to host its annual Summer Reading Program to encourage reading for students over the summer break.

With Clinton’s strong reputation hosting the OK Kids State Coach Pitch Baseball Tournament, it will soon see another big tournament this summer that organizers say has the potential to be even bigger: the OK Kids State Coach Pitch Softball Tournament.

With Memorial Day on Monday, both Clinton Cemetery and Stafford Cemetery will host Memorial Day services which are free and open to the public.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma lawmakers on Tuesday signed off on a $1.05 million settlement with the family of a state prison inmate who died of appendicitis in 2018 despite five visits to the prison’s medical staff in the week before his death.
