This summer in western Oklahoma, heavy rains have washed across the area keeping the ground and vegetation moist leading to a less than average summer wildfire season according to Clinton Fire Chief Brett Russell. And with the wet weather, officials say they have their sights set on preparing for a busy winter wildfire season as new growth dries out in the coming weeks and months.
The damages of the July 7 storm are still the No. 1 priority of Public Works Director Gene Mc-Cullough, with the main concern now the water tower by the intersection of Broadway Avenue and 18th Street.
