Even after the heavy rains Custer County experienced this week, the county’s 121 watersheds weathered the storms just fine according to Custer County Conservation District secretary Cindy Gerhardt. That despite the fact that most are reaching the end of their estimated 50-year lifespan.

Two organizations have been granted money from the City of Clinton’s Hotel/Motel Tax to help them host events this summer, but the amount was cut considerably for one of them.

Two teen-aged Clinton males, one 18 years old and the other 19, have been charged with second-degree rape for allegedly having sex with 15-year-old girls. The girls apparently were willing partners, which may be why the charges are second-degree.
