Deputy’s car shot at in high-speed chase

Custer County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Dan Brownfield assisted in an alleged high-speed chase early Monday morning, continued his pursuit through gunfire, glass shrapnel to his face and a ricocheted bullet to his vest to help bring the chase to an end with the suspects behind bars.

Following Gov. Kevin Stitt’s announcement to begin the second phase of reopening Oklahoma following the shutdown due to COVID-19, Custer County officers have issued new guidelines for public access to the courthouse.
