A two-car wreck Thursday afternoon a few miles north of Arapaho on Highway 183, ended with occupants pinned inside their vehicles. The accident left the above vehicle’s front end smashed in, while the other ended upside down. Numerous first responder groups arrived on scene to offer aid. Arapaho Fire Chief Jared Howell, Clinton Fire Lt. D.J. Woodall and Clinton Fire Lt. Dylan Abner, hidden behind Woodall, try to free one of the occupants involved.
Clinton Public Schools is adding 15 new teachers to its roster for the 2020-21 school year. The teachers were honored this week at a luncheon hosted by the Clinton Chamber of Commerce and held at the Frisco Center.
This week the Clinton City Council approved purchasing 20 new 9mm handguns, holsters, and ammunition magazines for the police department.
A portion of the old VFW building was demolished Wednesday, as progress continues on the new Cheyenne-Arapaho EMS facility. An excavator clears out metal beams and rubble, where the section of the building once stood. The ground breaking was held only a month ago on July 3.
An Illinois truck driver was injured Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident that wound up closing two lanes of Interstate 40 for three hours and 19 minutes.

Gross Receipts to the Treasury jumped by more than 25 percent in July due primarily to the delayed income tax filing deadline, State Treasurer Randy McDaniel announced Wednesday.
