Homeowners may qualify for exemptions

There are three different tax exemptions Custer County residents may be able to qualify and apply for according to Custer County Assessor Brad Rennels.

The assessor said homeowners of all ages could qualify for a double homestead exemption.

New Year’s blaze causes heavy damage

A blaze large enough to produce smoke that clouded parts of U.S. Highway 183, broke out around 11:33 p.m. New Year’s Day at 618 Congress Ave., and the Clinton Fire Department rapidly responded and put out the fire, before it extended beyond the initial area.
