With the first full week of school having already come and gone, several students of Clinton Public Schools, all at various points in their educational career, spoke with the Clinton Daily News to share about the school year to come.

The contractual management team of Clinton Regional Hospital, 3rd Avenue West, produced a press release Thursday evening disputing claims made in Wednesday’s Clinton Hospital Authority meeting.

City funds are looking a bit different due to the reclassification of loans from the City to the Clinton Hospital Authority, according to City Treasurer Debra Blanchard. With the recent failure to sell the hospital to Rural Hospital Solutions, many have questioned how much money is in the coffers of the City’s accounts.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — The teacher who authorities say admitted to fatally stabbing two hikers at Devil’s Den State Park in Arkansas last month pleaded not guilty Thursday to murder charges.

Clinton Public Schools held a meeting Tuesday morning with representatives from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma CareerTech present to announce Clinton Public Schools’ participation in the “Teaching to Teach” Apprenticeship Scholarship Program.

“We’re here today because, to make payroll, we need an injection of about 200,000,” Clinton Hospital Authority Chairman Ken Baker announced at Wednesday’s special meeting of the Clinton City Council. “That’s cutting it really short, but we don’t want to ask for any more than what we need.” Baker said going forward, the authority and hospital staff will continue working toward improving the revenue cycle management (RCM) system and decreasing costs.
