Family escapes harm in house fire

The Clinton Fire Department responded to a house fire early Saturday morning at 220 S. 12 St. The house owned by Yaritza Aguirre Rodriguez had no smoke detectors and was expected to be a total loss. Of seven individuals in the house at the time, no one was hurt.

Custer County commissioners discussed FEMA relief funds for May 2019 flooding at their weekly meeting Monday. Also approved at the meeting was the Oklahoma Juvenile Affairs fiscal year 2023 contract.

WPLS gets grant for new furniture

Western Plains Library System has received a grant through the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Federal ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) Fund and the Oklahoma Department of Libraries to place new furniture in each of its branches.
