Clinton to host  Buffalograss  Arts Festival

Clinton will once again be hosting the Fall Arts Festival put on by the Buffalograss Arts Institute on Sept. 24. The event will feature artists from across the state along with student artwork from area schools. The festival will begin at 10 a.m. that Saturday in downtown Clinton.

Dominic Anthonie Breaux, 32, of Clinton, has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, resisting arrest, obstruction, and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident Aug. 22. According to an affidavit filed by Clinton Police Officer Emanuel Ruiz, the officer was patrolling the area of N. Second Street and Prairie Chief Avenue around 11:45 p.m. that night when he saw a male subject walking on the wrong side of the road.

Clinton band set for contest

The Pride of Clinton Marching Band is hard at work to bring its marching show, “Chicago on Broadway,” to life on the football field. The City of Clinton will have the opportunity to see the show before the band heads to contest in late September.

Sleep’s Bakery, a former staple of Clinton, has made its return to town to serve the community with the famous doughnuts people have come to know and love for many years.
