Custer County commissioners gave their assent this week to the purchase of a “compact excavation digger” – a machine similar to a backhoe – for Soil Conservation District No. 88 headquartered in Clinton.

Owners of the Glancy Motor Hotel have filed notices in District Court seeking to prevent the City of Clinton from demolishing it.

The historic motel, a frequent stopping place for travelers during the heyday of Route 66, was condemned Aug. 6 by the Clinton City Council.
