This week Clinton Economic Development Authority Director Roland Mower announced that Domino’s Pizza is coming here. The new pizza restaurant will be located at the 66 Curve.
My Christmas break was fun. I went to my Pappy and Mammy’s house for Christmas. We opened presents, ate snacks, and played football outside.
After Christmas I went to Atlanta, Georgia, with my dad and brother.
The only time you see gray-haired people like me on television is in commercials that only run during the evening news.
Happy New Year! There are just a few weeks before the start of the next legislative session and many things are happening in preparation for the second session of the 57th Legislature.
DEAR ABBY: I have had a friend, “Kimberly,” for 52 years, ever since first grade. We went all through school together. Teachers described her as a “social butterfly.” My dad described her as a “phony.” She’s an extrovert with a nice personality and many friends.
DEAR HARRIETTE: I went to visit my sister, who is single and retired. We talk on the phone a lot, but we haven’t spent time together for a couple of years. I was surprised to see how sedentary her life has become. Basically she sits around and watches TV all day.
Dear Doctor: I just heard about a study that says if you own a dog, you’ll do better after having a heart attack. Is that real, or is it an urban legend?
DEAR ABBY: Thirty years ago, a friend of my husband’s roommate passed away of AIDS and was cremated. His family had ostracized him. I have no idea who they are or where they are. The roommate left and later died, also from AIDS.
DEAR HARRIETTE: I like to wear high-heeled shoes, mainly because I am pretty short. If I wear heels, I feel like I am at least getting up to near where other girls are. I like that aspect, but sometimes my feet hurt like crazy.
Many previously taboo subjects — like menopause — are more openly talked about today. But instead of discussing the real experience of menopause, it’s often used as a punchline — like jokes about hot flashes.
