DEAR HARRIETTE: A while back, there was a benefit held for a person who has cancer. A generous sum was raised by friends and relatives who collected items from donors. The collected items were sold, as were baked goods and other foods, and there were raffles and other games.

The summer heat was evident at the Monday evening meeting of the board of directors of the Foss Reservoir Master Conservancy District.
Clinton’s Summer Playground and Reds365 programs are joining forces this summer, starting May 28 and running through July 19, offering a wide array of activities and opportunities for local children. With a focus on partnership, education and community support, organizers say the program aim to provide a safe and enjoyable environment where children can learn and grow during their break from school.
