Tuesday evening’s City Council meeting also focused on the Riverside Golf Course management, along with discussions on the Clinton Police Department’s (CPD) gun surplus and the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group (OMAG) trustee election.

Clinton freshman competes in golf state tournament

The Clinton High School boys’ golf team was represented by Scout Acosta at the Class 4A State Golf Tournament at the Shangri-La Golf Club and Resort on Monkey Island, where he finished tied for 55th place.

Clinton soccer advances to fourth title game

Another year, another state title appearance for the Clinton Reds soccer team (15-3), as it came from behind to down Fort Gibson 3-2 Tuesday at the Tornado Bowl to advance to the Class 4A state title game.

A-B track and field competes in state meet

Over the weekend, both of the Arapaho-Butler Indians girls’ and boys’ track and field teams traveled to Western Heights High School to take part in the Class A State Track and Field Meet. While it was a good time for the track team, Coach Tyler Foale said his team was buried in the other sports advancing to their respective state tournaments.

Clinton track earns two state champs

The Clinton Red Tornado track and field team came away from the weekend Class 4A State Meet in Catoosa with two gold medals to show for its success.
