The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development and Oklahoma State Director Kenneth Corn announced Feb. 1 that a grant of $899,427 was awarded on behalf of the Biden-Harris administration to Southwestern Oklahoma State University to provide improved educational opportunities to more than 44,000 students in western Oklahoma.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Western Oklahoma are hosting their first-ever fundraiser gala at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Redland Event Venue on Frisco Avenue. CASA Director Jackie Aaron said the gala is a test run they’ve chosen to attempt after taking inspiration from another CASA program within the state.
