Arapaho-Butler basketball teams weren’t the only residents of their towns who had a busy weekend; Sunday afternoon, one day after the A-B boys won the West Central Tournament championship and the girls won the consolation title, firefighters from the two communities battled four wind-swept blazes.

A Clinton man is charged with using auto jumper cables to apparently steal electricity from Public Service Company.

The defendant is James Edward Weber II, 27.

A 17-year-old Butler youth was injured and flown by helicopter to OU Medical Center following a 7:30 a.m. accident Wednesday on State Highway 73 near Stafford Road six miles west of Clinton. The accident occured when this 1996 GMC SUV ran off the right side of the highway while eastbound.

Clinton High School Legal Teams have kicked off their season with scrimmages against other schools, teacher coach Kathy Kelley said.
